Remembering Queen Elizabeth II And Her Dazzling Diamond Collection

Queen Elizabeth II lived 96 royal years. 70 years as the Queen of The United Kingdom and the undisputed star of monochrome fashion.

The photographs taken during this sitting were the basis of The Queen's image on postage stamps from 1953 until 1971.

No Queen however is anything without her jewels. Queen Elizabeth II wore some of the world's most precious jewels.

In 2017 The Queen and The Duke became the first couple in the Royal Family to celebrate their Platinum Wedding anniversary.

The Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara is one of the most resplendent pieces of jewellery in the collection which was gifted to Queen Mary on her wedding day.

Arnold Machin’s effigy of The Queen, which has been featured on UK stamps since 1967, is widely considered to be one of the most reproduced and iconic images in the world. It has been re-printed an estimated 220 billion times, in more than 130 different colours.

She picked a platinum diamond drop necklace with 300 diamonds set in perfect unison. She went on to wear it for her first official photograph which eventually went on the stamps.

Necklaces, crowns, earrings even brooches, the Queen had a fondness for them all and never left a speck on her monochrome looks without a little diamond dust on it.

Perhaps one of the most beautiful necklaces that still exist in the world was a gift to the Queen at her wedding by the Nizam of Hyderabad.

Her Coronation jewel collection. Some of the most famous jewels like the Black Prince's Ruby, the Stuart Sapphire, and the Cullinan II diamond are all part of the crown.
